Major League Baseball Pitch Hit & Run Competition Pitch, Hit & Run is a free program for boys and girls ages 7 - 14. This program is intended to encourage youth participation in baseball. It allows youngsters to showcase their pitching, hitting & running abilities. Boys and girls compete together.

Pecos Bill Rides the Oregon Trail Stories and songs of the Wild West and the Oregon Trail are woven together with guitar, banjo, mandolin picking, cowboy hat tricks, rope spinning and country clog dancing to create a vibrant tapestry of the settling of the American West.

Skate Park Competition

Calling all bikers and skaters that want to show-off their skills! The Riverhead Skate Park is hosting a skating competition for children 6-17. Activities will be on all three levels of the park. Try your skill and speed on our obstacle course; see what fancy footwork with come flat tricks and more. A COPY OF THE CHILDS BIRTH CERTIFICATE IS REQUIRED

NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick This NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass and Kick is a free program designed to create a lively and engaging forum for boys and girls ages 8-15 to compete separately against their peers in punting, passing and placekicking skills. All contestants must register at the Riverhead Recreation Dept. office at Stotzky Park by Friday September 18, 2008. A Copy of Birth Certificate is required.

11th Annual Snapper Tournament The focus of this Tournament is to get youth/adults involved in fishing and to raise money for the Riverhead Recreation Department Summer Program Scholarship Fund. Prizes: Rod/Reel will go to the 1st place winner in each division. Trophies/awards will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division. Free T-Shirts will be given to the first 100 registrants. Register in advance at the Recreation Department Office, Stotzky Park OR on the day of the Tournament at the Town dock at 10:00 a.m. Chinese auction will follow the tournament.
